Nursery Neccessities Girls Baby Card

My good friend Allison gave birth to a beautiful baby girl a couple of weeks ago. Sienna Grace Isabella - a beautiful name too! This is the card i made for them. It was my first card with the Nursery Necessities set which is just so cute and perfect for babys cards. I have a few ideas for little boys cards too with the boat stamp it has.
I have used a Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette colour scheme. The Designer Series Paper is from the Level 1 Hostess Patterns Pack (FREE with a workshop of $300).

I have also used this set on a box i made to hold some wraps for the baby which i will show you on another day.

Card Recipe:
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette Classic Ink Pad
Accessories: 5/8" Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon
Scallop Edge Punch
Patterns Designer Series Paper

NOTE: I have now listed all of my classes for the rest of the year down the left hand side of the page. There is a christmas box making night and only one christmas card stamp a stack left before the end of the year.
Also note that the GIRLS NIGHT IN STAMPIN' FIESTA has only a few places left in the evening sessions, so if you are interested email me at christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au

Classy Cheers to You

I was recentley playing around with the Cheers to You set. I had a customer who said that she liked the way you could add glitter to the glasses to make it look like they were full.
I wanted to use the champagne/wine glasses and i wanted to use the silver and black theme. I used some of the Silver Metallic cardstock (yes we sell metallic cardstock it comes in a pack with gold, silver and bronze) as i thought it would co-ordinate well with the Sytyled Silver Hodgepodge.
At the time i was being lazy and when i stamped three sets of glasses with Staz On Black Ink across the Whisper White cardstock i didn't measure them up well and i had a massive gap in between two of them.

But those of you who know me i always say that misakes can easily be fixed with papercraft and so i pulled out some Grey Tafetta Ribbon and fastened it with some Styled Silver Hodgepodge and it turned out well, if i do say so myself.
I used Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to fill the glasses and i have used the Silver Stamp Pad to stamp the glasses on the black cardstock. Gee silver looks great stamped on black!

I think this card would be perfect for a wedding, 18th, 21st, 40th etc birthday, engagement or another type of congratulations

Mojo Monday Challenge - Christmas Classics

Another thing i came across whilst surfing the net earlier in the week was the Mojo Monday Challenge for this week. It is also a card sketch:

The circles at the bottom screamed out to me, christmas baubles. One of my favourite sets at the moment is Christmas Classics. So i had a play and here is what i came up with:

I have used a really traditional christmas colour scheme of Real Red and Handsome Hunter and coupled withWhisper White. I think..... it's beginning to look alot like christmas!

Card recipe:
Stamp Set: Christmas Classics
Card Stock: Handsome Hunter, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Handsome Hunter, Real Red
Accessories: Stampin' Write Markers Handsome Hunter, Real Red, 1/3" White Grosgrain Ribbon, Gold Brads

Inkspirations Challenge using Nursery Neccessites

I had to make a couple of quick baby cards last night (lots of people are having beautiful baby girls recentley). I had been browsing around during the week and thought the Inkspirations card challenge layout (from Makeesha Byl's Blog) was really good. This is the card sketch:

An idea popped into my head for a baby card i had to make and this is what i came up with.
The initial card idea didn't quite work so i changed it around a bit an ended up with two cards from the one initial design i had in mind.

Card Recipe:

Nursery Necessities Stamp Set
Punches: Star Punch, Word Window Punch, 1 3/8" Square Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch
Ink: Sage Shadow, Pretty In Pink
Card stock: Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Sage Shadow
Pretty In Pink Grossgrain Ribbon

Faux Leather Lovely As A Tree Male Card

I have been asked to do a workshop with a male theme so i have been playing around with some ideas of late. Faux Leather is one technique i wanted to try. I actually didn't like the look of the Faux Leather cards made with masking tape that i had seen but decided to give it a go and was quite happy with the way it turned out.
I feel that male cards are best kept simple most of the time. I mounted the Faux Leather on chocolate chip card stoclk i have just coloured a simple tree from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set with Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip markers and popped it up on dimensionals. The Lovely As A Tree set is one of my favourites as it is so versatile and is just timeless. I want to use this tree on a christmas card soon!
In the background of this card i have also used some Hemp Twine which is great for male cards and a bargain too at under $5.

Loads of Love 3D Car

One of my very good friends little boy Luke turned 1 a couple of weeks ago. I had seen this 3D car based on the Loads of Love car a little while ago in a U-Stamp project and wanted to make it for him. I was really happy with how it turned out. Very cute for the little man.
I used Pacific Point which i think is the greatest colour for boys, it is bright and vibrant and also blue which is my favourite colour in general. I also used a bit of Baja Breeze for the bumper and Basic Black and Basic Grey for the wheels. I have sponged around the edges with each colour to give the car a bit of a worn look.
I have also covered some of the On Board Chipboard Letters with Baja Breeze Designer Series Paper and coated them with Crystal Effects to make them shine.
The card is a box and i place a pair of socks and card in it for him.

Die Cut Blooms Flower Pot Card

A friend of mine had an operation a couple of weeks ago and i wanted to make her a card. Now those who know me know that whilst i like flowers i hate the fact that they die a few days later and so i thought this flower pot card is a perfect alternative. I used the Die Cut Blooms Again pack for the flowers which made this card super quick to whip up in the short amount of time i had before giving the card to my friend. The flowers in the Blooms Again pack come in Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla.

You just pull the flowers and the card comes out from the pot so you can write in it. Cute isn't it? Coupled with a magazine and a choccie, you can't go wrong!

This card can be easily demonstrated at a workshop and i am currently looking for hostesses, so if you would like me to show you how to make it then email me at Christies_stamps@yahoo.com.au

The spaces for the Girls Night In Stampin' Fiesta are going very fast and will be filled sooner rather than later so make sure you have reserved your place! Email me at Christies_Stamps@yahoo.com.au or give me a call on 0411110348

It's my wonderful upline Merryl Blacker's Birthday Today.
Hope she has a wonderful day. I have so much to thank Merryl for as she introduced the wonderful Stampin' Up! world to me and she continues to inspire me and share with me each day.
Thanks Merryl!

This is the card i made her. My third and final shutter card. This card is made featuring the gorgeous Rose is a Rose stamp set, i have also used Pocket Silhouettes and It's Your Birthday. I have used the co ordinating Bella Rose Designer Series Paper and jazzed it up a bit with a Kiwi Kiss Courduroy Brad, a button from Button Boquet and some Clear Rhinestone Brads and a half pearl from the Pretties Kit.

My Favourite Christmas Card Ever

Here is the second Trifold Shutter Card i made. I have based the card around the Christmas Classics stamp set which is my new favourite. A favourite because i got it for FREE (one of the perks of being a demonstrator is Stampin' Up! does things like this on occassion) and because it just looks so great. The stamped images really pop out of the page.

I have used Riding Hood Red as the base cardstock and Kiwi Kiss Designer Series Paper. On the front i have stamped the christmas tree 3 times and then cut out each layer giving it a real 3D effect. I have then used my Two-Way Glue Pen to add Dazzling Diamonds to the tree.
I have also added a Filigree Brad with a Red Rhinestone Circle Brad to the bottom corner for more decoration. I love the way this looks!

The Merry Christmas greeting comes in this set and i have bordered it with the Holly. I added some Crystal Effects to the cherries and i am really happy with the look that this gave the holly.

In the middle of the card i have stamped a greeting sentiment from the God's Blessings stamp set. That set has really beautiful verses. The background has probably my favourite stamp from this set, the bauble , and i have popped one up on Dimensionals with the rhinestones for bling.

The final part to the card has the Jingle All the Way stamp. This is a great stamp because you can use markers on it to make it really stand out. And just so i used all of the stamps in the set (LOL :) ) i cut out the star and popped it up on dimensionals.

So who will be recieving this card for christmas?

Scrapbook Layout - Hoppy Memories & Big Deal Alphabet

Today i have a scrapbooking layout to show you.

We recently spent the day of my neices birthday at Luna Park. I thought my kids were too young for it but they loved it. Tyson loved the slide at Coney Island so much that i think my husband went on it about 50 times (and that is no exageration!). Alyssa loved the merry go round and she cried when she had to get off after 3 straight turns. It is somewhere i will go back to for sure.

I have managed to fit lots of photos into this layout and i have used some scraps that i had from the Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin' Kit as well as some of the Die Cut Stickers from that set. I stamped the letters from the Big Deal Alphabet on to Whisper White card stock with Real Red ink and cut them out to put the title 'Luna Park' on the page. The layout is mounted onto Tempting Turquoise 12 x 12 card stock. I love this colour. To me it spells kids and fun. What do you think?

Christmas Snow Globe

I had this idea a couple of weeks ago when i did a Stamp A Stack in which we made a christmas snow globe. I thought that heat and stick powder would look great on a snowy globe. So i combined two cards basically and came up with this one.

I have used the Snow Swirled stamp set stamped in Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point. I have then created the glittering effect by using Dazzling Diamonds and Heat and Stick Powder. The Snow Globe stand is Night of Navy with some Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon wrapped around it.

What do you think?

All in the Family Happy Birthday

I have finally been able to play around with this set lately.
Today is my nephews birthday and he is 11. He is such a boy (who is growing up too quick into a young man). A couple of weeks ago we got to take him to one of his favourite (and mine!) band's concerts for his birthday. It was a big surprise because he had no idea about it until i picked him up from school and took him.
Anyway back to the card. I made this especially for Lachlan when i was on my weekend away. Lachie loves soccer (and my husband Trev has been his coach for the last 3 years), this year they were undefeated minor premiers!
I took the All in the Family set and the Family Favourites set away with me specifically to make this card for Lachie's birthday. I had the basic idea in my head but then my upline Merryl had one of those wow moments whilst making a soccer scrapbook layout for her son and put the soccer ball inside one of the Stampin' Up! Build A Brads. I think it looks fantastic and it went perfectly with this card.
Colours are Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, and Baja Breeze. I have also used Staz on Ink and Blender Pens with Pacific Point to colour in the soccer uniform. Pacific Point Double Striped Ribbon is in the Background and the Pewter Build A Brads have been used with the 1/2" circle punch to punch out the soccer ball.

Happy Birthday Lachie, hope you have a great day!

Forest Friends Case

This is one of the cards i made on my weekend away using the cute Forest Friends stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalogue. One of my sidelines Belinda, (who needs to get the internet and create a blog because she is so very very talented!) made this card and nearly everyone at our table had to CASE it. Although i stamped a birthday sentiment on it from On Your Birthday, i think it makes such a sweet baby card.
Pocket Silhouettes and Wild About You were used to make the grass and the flowers and some of the gorgeous Flower Brads from the mini catalogue added a bit of dimension to the card.
Do you know i didn't use any ink pads in this card? I used markers on every stamp. Buying a set of markers is a great way to get each colour, i prefer them to Stampin' Spots because they have more uses. You can use them for journaling, colouring in and so much more. In this card i have used Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink. The card stock used is Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette with a bit of velum to add softness.

Happy Birthday Mum - Tri Shutter

It is my mum's birthday today (Happy Birthday Mum!) and this is the card i made her. It uses one of my favourite sets 5th Avenue Floral and the co-ordinating paper Urban Oasis.

If you are a blog surfer you will have seen lots of these tri-shutter cards lately as splitcoast have a tutorial on them. The basic template is really easy, however i didnt like cutting out the designer series paper to fit in. I was happy though with the way it turned out. I have used lots of accessories with Silk Flowers and Half Pearls from the Pretties Kit, Felt Flowers II and a button from Button Bouquet. I have used Basic Grey as the base card and Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Grey ink on the Stamp sets which are 5th Avenue Floral, On Your Birthday and God's Blessings.
